SomaFM are simply the best online radio. The sounds and playlists are wonderful

Simple, pretty interface and does what it is supposed to. The icon could be a little more fancy.

It works, but there are some problems: - the equalizer does not work when the app is not in focus - the volume control bar is buggy when shifted a bit faster - the does not have airplay capability

Love it, only thing missing is AirTunes support for streaming to several speakers in different rooms

Bought this app yesterday and tried it several times since then. The app works as such but I get no connection to the stations. So no music to listen to… therefore I paid for nothing… very disappointing...

I really like the idea of a "native" soma.fm app and its nice to have all channels and playlists in one place. But there are some flaws that really need to be fixed. Most annoying is the fact, that the app has problems finding out about firewalls. If you cannot reach a soma.fm station the player hangs and you have to restart the app rather than just getting an error message. It would be great to be able to set a "yes, i am behind a firewall/proxy" flag as there are some stations that have streams dedicated to this. Moreover it would be great being able to resize the app as this could minimize scrolling. Nonetheless: thanks.

This App is a great way to listen to SomaFM. Airplay doesnt work with my setup, but besides that, everything is as it should be. And for Airplay, you should use Airfoil anyway.

Great, all my fav station in one app! I have only one small feature request…if the app is hidden in the dock it would be great if the app window could be unhidden by clicking on the app icon in the dock. With this feature Id add the 5th star ;)

D/l this to my Mac and had SOMA streaming in seconds. Its awesome and beats the socks off iTunes radio! ;)

Buying the app is a good way to make a small donation. Please add the ability to control using multimedia keys (rdio app can do it) and, when possible, AirPlay. 5 stars anyway for the awesome music!!!

UPDATE: Still works well though no keyboard shortcuts were added. See review below for my gripes about lack of ability to control sound with keyboard. To add to it, it would be good even to just have a menu item + keyboard shortcut for "play/pause music". That way I could at least switch to the app and start/stop the audio without having to use the mouse to carefully select now playing and push the TINY play/pause button. Its possible in many situations to use the space bar to play/pause once you are in the now playing tab, but even that fails sometimes, bringing you to the all stations tab instead. Either way we need a global shortcut for play/pause, preferably system-wide and preferably the actual media buttons at the top of the keyboard (another reviewer pointed out that the rdio app hijacks those keys so apparently its possible!). Thanks! Very nicely done little app, great work! The UI is definitely way nicer and more appropriate to SomaFM listening than in iTunes. Love being able to favorite stations and songs for later! One thing I really want for it though is a way to stop the music when a different app is at the forefront. Ive become totally addicted to using the keyboard button for play/pause to control iTunes even when its in the background, especially when Im listening to radio where some songs are just wrong for what Im doing (Drone Zone is perfect for working but sometimes its just too depressing). I think there must be a way for you to make the play/pause button control your app instead of iTunes, that would be ideal. Otherwise maybe theres some other way to create a shortcut to pause music from the background? Something like cmd+play/pause would be pretty awesome if you could swing it :) Another small thing is that the buy this button is kind of annoying in that it takes a long time to get you to a 404 screen on iTunes if the track isnt available. So far none of the tracks I checked from Drone Zone are available. Ideally it would hide the shopping cart if the song wasnt available in iTunes. Short of that it would be nice if it went straight to iTunes instead of jumping through the browser, which adds time and also makes the SomaFM app two cmd+tab strokes away from the iTunes instead of one (i.e. switching back to the SomaFM app feels like it should be just CMD+TAB but instead that takes you to the awkwardly dead browser tab instead). Thanks for the wonderful app and most of all the marvelous music! I got this app while it was free but will be sending you another donation soon anyway :D

What a relief, the best electronic / ambient music streaming from the team at SomaFM without the hassle of the awful iTunes radio player interface. Keep up the good work and great music—you make the day nicer.

I installed it and played my favourite Groove Salad station in 1 minute or so. I still cant figure it out how to play it on iTunes, I know it’s possible, I did it before, but it is very complicated… Thanks guys!

Simple, easy access to SOMA FM’s fabulous music channels. Unfortunate, chronic bug causes music to freeze, sometimes after only a few minutes. Requires you to quit and re-open the app. Other than that, fabulous. :)

Nice looking app, unfortunately, if you have multiple AirPlay devices, this app doesn’t let you select the one you want! :(

I have discovered it just recently. Seamless experience with stunning music for every taste. No commercials! Leave a review and a rating for those guys. They operate from people’s donations only. Spread the word, they deserve it.
